Flying to Ksamil: how do you get there?
The Ksamil beach forms the showpiece of the Albanian Riviera, located in the south of Albania. However, reaching Ksamil beach requires some planning. There are no train connections available and Tirana airport is not in the immediate vicinity of the beach. So let’s take a closer look at which options are most suitable to get to Ksamil beach.
The flight time from Amsterdam to the nearest airport, Corfu International Airport, is about 3 to 3.5 hours. After arrival in Corfu, you still need to take a ferry to Ksamil, which takes another about 1 to 1.5 hours. In total, you can expect a travel time of about 4.5 to 5.5 hours, depending on the flight schedules and waiting time for the ferry. Many travelers therefore combine Ksamil with Corfu due to the travel.
The nearest airports in Albania are Tirana International Airport and Vlorë Airport. It is already 4 to 5 hours drive from Tirana to Ksamil. So if you are smart, plan some stops along the way!
The best time to visit: weather and seasons
The climate in Ksamil is Mediterranean, which means you can enjoy pleasant temperatures all year round. Are you going for a beach vacation? Then you obviously come in the summer months. Spring and autumn are perfect for exploring the surroundings without the crowds, but you have slightly less certainty of summer temperatures.
