Bali and rice fields simply belong together. There’s a good chance that during your trip you’ll drive past those green terraces multiple times and think: what would it be like to wake up here?
We thought the same. And honestly: waking up with mist over the rice fields, the sound of birds, and nothing else around… that stays with you.
But be careful: many hotels claim “rice field views,” while in reality you’re just looking at a few palm trees. Always check which room you’re booking once you’ve found a hotel.
You’ll find rice fields all over Bali, but not every location feels the same. Around Ubud you’re closer to the crowds and attractions, while areas like Sidemen and Jatiluwih are much quieter and greener. So it really makes a difference where you stay.

Ubud – the most popular place among the rice fields
Ubud is the easiest choice. You’re surrounded by greenery, but also close to restaurants, temples, and cafés. The downside: it can be busy, which is why most people stay just outside the center.
Want to know what else you can do here besides your stay? Ubud is more than just rice fields and beautiful hotels. You’ll find temples, markets, nature walks, and plenty of great places to eat. In our other blog, we share exactly what’s worth it, including practical tips and what you might want to skip.

Arya Villas Ubud
💰 Luxury
This is one of those places where you instantly get that Bali feeling. Traditional wooden villas, lots of greenery, and views of rice fields and mountains.

- perfect if you really want to slow down

Wapa di Ume Sidemen

- pool with a view
- small-scale atmosphere
- restaurant on-site (handy, since there’s not much nearby)

- lots of peace and quiet
- fewer tourists
