Fun fact: Prince Harry and Meghan also visited here in 2018. They naturally make sure to let you know that at the location.

Tips for visiting the Redwoods Treewalk

Here are a few tips for visiting the Redwoods Treewalk:

  • Reserve a fastpass if you don’t like waiting. The fastpass costs NZD 5 extra and gives you priority at the entrance. We ourselves had to wait almost an hour because people with a fastpass got priority.
  • Pay inside before you get in line. Ticket sales do not go through the line, but via a kiosk. So make sure you have a ticket first. Or when you are together, have one of you buy the ticket while the other already stands in line.
  • Arrive on time. Well, you always read that at tourist attractions. It doesn’t work any differently here.

Is the walk suitable for children?

Yes and no. It mainly depends on the age. For example, you won’t get a stroller with you. But otherwise it is perfectly doable with children!
